Joint Rice distribution Project of Los Casas del Sto. Nino and Sun Star People’s Courier Takes Off (Batangas City, Philippines)
Gift of rice to the wanting and the needy during Christmas holidays had been an old tradition initiated by Atty. Isidoro Aclan since the early sixty’s. Atty. Isidoro Aclan , SSPC chairman is now currently residing in Los Angeles. In order to continue the old tradition of gifting rice during the Christmas holidays, his visiting granddaughter Mary Anne Quizon , honorary director of Los Casas del Sto Nino a non profit corporation with offices in Los Angeles and Sydney, sponsored this year’s rice distribution project.
As usual the venue for rice distrbution was the Aclan family ancestral home at 157 D Silang Street opposite the Batangas National High School.
Tickets had been issued at random to people around the city commencing at the old marketplace in D. Silang and in areas where the less fortunate usually hang out. Remaining tickets not collected prior to December 30 may still be presented for
rice collection up to January 6, 2014.
LCDSN and SSPC appreciate the efforts of volunteers who helped Ms. Quizon initiate the rice distribution project.
